Oof, there it is again—that blinking cursor, the open newsletter draft, the unfinished nurture sequence, the uninspired lead magnet.
Or maybe it's that nagging feeling of knowing that you're supposed to be doing something other than social media marketing, but it feels weird and confusing, so you convince yourself that it's just... not that important?
If I hit the nail on the head, you can keeping scrolling (in fact, I urge you to, because I have just the thing to help with all of that paralyzing "what-the-HECK" is email marketing and why should I care energy).
Before Kaytee stepped in, I was as frozen as a deer in the headlights —completely clueless about where to even start. Now, I’m sending out weekly newsletters that feel polished and professional, I’ve got a beautiful sign-up form for my website and socials, and people actually compliment my emails. Kaytee didn’t just make email marketing doable—she made it enjoyable.

"This is one of the best business decisions I've made since starting my travel agency! Sometimes it's not worth trying to reinvent the wheel when there are professionals like who can do a much better job than I ever could!"

THE NERD FILES
Did I dream of being an email marketing ultra-nerd as a little girl? 100% no. I was busy forcing my little brother to wear my life-sized Barbie's dresses and climbing trees. But after being a travel advisor myself, I realized two things: making money on your own accord is HARD, but staying in front of my audience made it easier. And guess what? Most of my audience wasn't accidentally scrolling across my carefully curated post on Instagram, you know what I mean?
(I mean newsletters. Consistently sent newsletters).
YOUR INBOX BESTIE
I'm Midwest-nice, but I’m definitely a no-coddling, yet plenty-of-encouragement-and-empowerment kind of gal. I’ll tell you everything you need to know about straightforward and effective email marketing (and probably toss in a GIF or emoji while I’m at it), but I also won’t let you make excuses to avoid doing the work. I’m a big believer in small business, but an even bigger believer in being real about what it takes to grow and nurture one (aka: make money).
So here’s your heads-up: if you’re looking for a quick-biz-fix, you won’t find it here. But if you’re ready for the long haul, I’m right there with you. Are you in?
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
I have a print in my office that says "live simply" and I take that little found-on-Etsy-sign very seriously. Email marketing is simple when you are handed the right tools and guidance to make it work. Instead of piecing together a bunch of random freebies online (or overcomplicating things for the sake of feeling *fancy*), you'll find a variety of comprehensive-yet-approachable options here at Moxie & Fourth. Newbie on a budget? Welcome! Tenured advisor with a long-ignored list? Let's revamp it! Email marketing isn't one-size-fits-all and neither are all of the ways I can help you.
it all started when my CONTENT started being... borrowed.
I send podcast-length voice notes to friends (and advisors via DM if you're down), save a concerning number of gardening TikToks, and will never pass up an opportunity to go get ice cream before dinner (who made the rules? I just wanna talk to 'em).
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I say it's the best way to think of your next business plan, if I do say so myself.
I've never fancied myself a "marketer" but as an advisor, my content was regularly... borrowed, let's say.
(Stolen. It was stolen.)
(And no, I'm not trying to flatter myself here. My content was aggressively borrowed.)
As a busy travel advisor trying to close sales and balance it all, I didn't pay much mind to marketing, but it turns out it's fairly important — and I was pretty good at it, accidentally.
Once I realized my approach to content creation and connecting with my audience was all the rage, I made sure to turn that "flattery" into a way to assist the advisors who so clearly needed better email marketing than what they could get their hands on.
It didn’t take long for me to notice the lack of truly inspiring email marketing content for travel advisors in the industry—let alone holistic, all-in-one solutions. So, I decided to create THEM myself.
Let’s wrap this up and fill in the backstory, shall we?
It took only a three-week trip to French Polynesia for me—a nurse of ten years—to think, "Heck yeah, I'd like to plan trips like this for a living!" That thought led to launching a travel business, then pivoting into a marketing role in the industry, and finally launching Moxie & Fourth—all in the span of six years.
Had I known that trip would kick off a chain reaction from "Wow, Tahiti, neat!" to "Wait, why is my content being borrowed?" to "Actually, email marketing is pretty cool," I might have sought professional help. What kind of character arc is that?
(One that, it turns out, perfectly fits my always-curious and creative personality).
